Another game night, toads, and Pioneer Day!

Well, here is a picture of yet another game night. L-R... George and Becca, Derek and Arian Riddle, Amanda and Curt Jensen. This is at the Riddles apartment. We live in the same complex as them and the Jensen's live in a complex just around the corner. They moved in about a month or so ago and we have really come to like them a lot. We always seem to have a good time with them.

OK...... so right between our two complexes there is a huge wash for when it rains like crazy here and floods (it's too dry here for the water to sink in the ground so they have to build washes because it always floods). Anyway, George and I have gone for walks in the evenings before and when we walk by the wash we hear this moaning, crying sound. There was one night when I really almost jumped the wall because I though either there was someone DYING there or someone had ABANDONED a baby or something. It was CREEPY!!!! So we were at the Jensen's one night and they were like,"Do you guys hear all those toads at night or is our apartment just way close to the wash?" Ha ha, so I guess the noise at night is toads, not dying, abandoned children. After our game night on Sunday when George and I were walking home, we finally SAW one. It really was this green and HUGE! I had to take a picture!

On the 19th our stake did a big Pioneer Day sha-bang. They have done it for years, this is just the first time I really enjoyed it.

The missionaries holding a HUGE flag!

Us with the Jensen's and Mom Hunt.
The firetruck totally SOAKING all of us. There really was nowhere to hide. We all got drenched!

Mad Gab and summer fun.

Last night we had our best friends, Derek and Arian Riddle, over for a game night. We had a blast playing Mad Gab. The girls won (of course!) but we all had a blast. The guys were cracking us up the whole time. They made the game a LOT harder than it should be. Unless of course, we girls are just way better at the game than them! he he Anyway, the game night was great. The Riddles are moving soon and we are so sad to see them go. George and Derek were in Elders Quorum together in the singles ward. We did a double date with them when Derek and Arian had been engaged for just a while and we had a blast. They got married last year just like us so we're all kind of on the same page in the life department :) We have been the best of friends ever since.

Here's a picture of George and I, really enjoying our summer. We've spent a lot of time in our apartment complex's pool. Way fun! We've also gone to a couple fun restaurants and seen some good movies. Favorite movie thus far, "Get Smart". We quote it all the time and can't wait for the DVD to come out. If you haven't seen it and LOVE Steve Carrell as much as us, you should see it!

Also for the past couple of weeks I have had the wonderful opportunity to practice mothering by watching my sister-in-law's one month old baby boy, Drew, a couple days a week. It's actually so much fun for me. I wake up a 6:30 and pick him up, we both kind of sleep a little until 8ish, then while he's still asleep I get showered and ready for the day, and sometimes even have a little bit to get some laundry going. Then he wakes up for about an hour or two and we just sit and watch TV and I feed him and then I'll put him in his car seat to go run some errands. He really is the perfect baby. I have yet to experience a crying fit from him. He just kind of pouts. Anyway, I love it. I could totally do this! :)

Well, I think that's about all that's going on in our little world. Hope you all are doing fantastic!
