Scared
I don't want to jinx it, so I knocked on wood and crossed my fingers and did all the other "wish me luck" stuff. I am feeling so great!!! FINALLY! I am almost 32 weeks (8 months) pregnant and feel great. I have lots of energy. My doctor has me on some meds for my high BP and its totally under control (YAY) and she's got me on a sorta, kinda diet that makes me feel so good. Eating better really does make you feel better. It's kind of a lot of work to get started, especially when all I was really eating was cold cereal, but worth it and easy once you get in the groove. I'm hoping this will make it easier for me to eat well and lose the baby weight after she comes!
Now, I'm feeling really good. And I know that in 6-8 weeks I could potentially be holding my baby IN MY ARMS and not in my belly. So now I'm starting to freak out about labor and delivery. Let me list my top fears, in no specific order...
1. That my water is going to break in public, or worse, as I am cutting someone's hair at work.
2. I have a low tolerance for pain, I know it. Therefore, scared that the contractions are going to be killing me and I'll be sure the baby is less than 2 minutes away, and I'll get to the hospital and they'll say, sorry honey, you're only at a 2 go home and walk around and come back in the morning. BAH!!
3. That the labor will go too fast and I won't have time for an epidural (I admit it, I love drugs)
4. That the baby will be too big and I'll end up in a c-section.
5. And last...... breastfeeding. I think its weird. I will do it, of course. I mean a) it's free, b) healthier for baby, c) bonding, yadda yadda yadda, oh and FREE. But I've seen some horror stories, yes SEEN. It pretty much scarred me for life.
Well, I hope this isn't too honest for some of you. If any of you have tips or advice, this is free reign to give it to me. You too mom.

*deep sigh*
Today I went to a prenatal yoga class. It was wonderful. I love it because it forces you to relax. Exactly what I need. Anyway, it was great and I will be going back next Saturday and every other Saturday until this baby comes. Maybe it'll help with this annoying high blood pressure and I won't have to be on meds anymore? That would be nice.

Pregnancy... love it.
Well, this is obviously my first pregnancy. To be completely honest, I really have not enjoyed anything about being pregnant except George and I both being able to feel her move. Up until about 4 weeks ago I was on some medication to keep me from throwing up 5 million times a day. I would still get sick, just not everyday. For a solid 2 months, I screwed up my back enough that doing ANYTHING at all pushed on a nerve and sent a zing of pain down my whole right side. I could hardly sleep and working was literally a pain. I finally went to a chiropractor (bless him, :o) ) and he fixed me all up and my back has been pain free. About the same time I stopped taking the medicine for throwing up, I started having this weird heart thing goin' on. It sucks. There is no pattern to it at all but it's really scary. I'll be resting, just watching TV or lying in bed or sitting at the sink doing my make-up, you know, nothing real strenuous at all. Anyway, I'll just be chillin' there and my heart starts racing. Seriously POUNDING out of my chest. I'll try and take deep breaths but for at least a couple hours it just races. It's really scary. Oh, I forgot to mention that my blood pressure for the past couple of months has been a little high, sometimes really high. So this Tuesday I had a dr's appointment and I told her all about the heart drama and she said my BP was really high again. Also, the glucose test I had taken the week before was high and I needed to do it again to see if I have Gestational Diabetes. She also told me that I had gained a lot of weight in the 4 week period (still only 10 lbs so far, yay!) and because of that and the high BP she was starting to worry about toxemia or pre-eclampsia. Wow, words every soon-to-be mother wants to hear 3 MONTHS BEFORE HER DUE DATE!!! NOT!! She measured my belly and was really surprised, she thinks I am actually 3 weeks ahead of schedule (wouldn't that be nice) and asked for me to have another ultrasound ASAP. The soonest I can get in is March 4. She also told me to go and get all this blood work done to see if it really is GD or toxemia. That was Tuesday. Tuesday afternoon I got this killer headache. It was awful. I was tossing and turning all night trying to put pressure on different spots on my head to help it feel better. No luck. And I was just too tired to get up and take some Tylenol. The headache lasted until Wednesday around 2pm. Then it came back again right before bed and was bad for and hour or so then gone for a while. Thursday morning, still bad. Also the day I did all the joyous blood work. The headache was pounding away and finally around 4pm I called my doctor to see if it was something to worry about of just sleep it off. She told me to drink some caffeine (diet coke, doctors orders!!!), come in in the morning to test my BP again and try to sleep but if it was still really bad in the morning to go to the hospital. Luckily this morning it was gone. But again with the marathon heart rate. It was bad and I couldn't calm down. I get into the dr's office and the nurse was worried because of how out of breath I was and of course, my BP was high again. The dr told me to lie down for 15 mins in a room and they would do it again. This time, heart rate was better, but BP still high. She ordered me this medication to lower my BP and said as soon as my blood work results came in, she would call me and let me know what was going on. The office closes at 1pm on Friday, and the results hadn't come in yet. So I get to wait and stress out all weekend about what could possibly be wrong. Also, my head is still killing me. Grrr. Anyway, that's the story. I really hope nothing is wrong or they can at least help me with just medication.
Oh, just to clarify the first couple sentences.... I hate being pregnant. BUT, I can't wait to have this beautiful baby here. I am so excited to be a mom and have little Charlotte be a part of our family.

Nesting??
The past two days have been highly successful. I finally cleaned and organized the baby's room and it looks fantastic. I can't wait to get everything all decorated on the walls and then my life will be complete :) Today I went through and cleaned the whole house, cleaned our bathroom, did ALL the laundry (am I the only one who never actually finishes ALL of it and just leaves things for next time???) and went shopping. It was great. Tonight I am making some sugar cookies with a recipe that my friend Tracy gave me. She let me try one last night and they are seriously heaven in cookie form. I hope mine turn out just as amazing as hers! I'm a little peeved though. I seriously searched Wal-Mart and Smiths from front to back and there were NO heart shaped cookie cutters!!! I know it's the day before Valentine's Day, but really??? NONE???!!! Grrr. So I don't know how, but somehow I'll make hearts... even if they're wonky.
Hope you all have a great Valentine's Day with your sweeties. George and I both have the day off tomorrow, so it'll be nice to just relax together all day.

This is so great
So I'm sitting here typing away, and little Charlotte is literally STANDING on my bladder. This is her favorite position. She moves and kicks and punches all day, but she never fails to be resting all her weight on my bladder. It's actually kind of funny. I love being able to feel her move. Poor George tries everyday to feel her and he never does. He said he felt a little kick about a week ago, but he hasn't felt anything since then.

Halfway Mark!
Now instead of counting up, I think I'm going to count down! So.... only 19 weeks to go! I'm excited. I can finally feel her moving now. And just this morning it's been more than just rolling around, I've actually felt little kicks and nudges. It's so cool! Feeling her move has made it so real now. I can't believe we're going to be parents.
Here is the classic side-view-belly-shot. Enjoy. hehe This is more for my record than anything else.
We had a fabulous Christmas together. No pictures though, dang it. We got lots of cute baby stuff, some gift cards and lots of tools. George wants to build stuff so bad now! We also are normal people now that actually have games. We got Apples to Apples, Trouble, Scrabble and Monopoly. Now we can have people over to play!! Friday we just sat around the house then went and saw "Seven Pounds". Great movie. Sort of confusing for the true blonde though. I need to see it again. We had George's brothers and friend over on Thursday night to play games and my family over Friday night to play games. We had a blast. Yesterday we went over to the Gunderson's and played Guitar Hero. Love that game. And now George loves it so hopefully we'll get it someday for our Wii. It's been really nice to just lounge around and not have any plans. Back to the grind on Monday!Posted by Rebecca Hunt at 9:48 AM 4 comments

It's.... a......
GIRL!!!!! BAH!!! I seriously cannot tell you how stinkin' excited I am! George is so happy too. He was completely expecting it to be a boy (doesn't every guy?) and took a little ego shot when he was wrong. But he got over it quick and we both can't wait to see what our little Charlotte will look like. What do you think about these middle names??
Charlotte Luella
Charlotte Joan
We have narrowed it down to these two. Luella is my Grandma's name and Joan is one of my wonderful aunt's name. So there is SOME significance. We'll see what we decide.
Anyway, I am in search of any blogs or websites any of you have seen that show you how to make cute baby headbands and bows, so let me know!

I'll blame it on the pregnancy
Forgetting EVERYTHING that is!!!!!! GRRR..... I'm actually getting angry about it now. Someone will tell me something and I focus and listen and seriously two minutes later they'll ask me what I think about what they said a minute ago and for the life of me I cannot remember. Yesterday the girl we visit teach asked if we knew anyone that could lead the music in sacrament meeting for her husband. I volunteered and she was so happy and grateful that it was something they didn't have to think about anymore. Oh yeah so who led the music today? Definitely not me. I'm sitting there singing the sacrament hymn and my VT partner leans over, "Weren't you going to lead today?" BAH!!!! It was also my turn for sharing time today. Now, I've known about this since the beginning of the month... but YES forgot about it until Thursday night at 2:37am. I remember the time because that time fluctuates about 4 minutes every morning for me to get up to go to the bathroom. Man, I love being pregnant.......... :(

BIG NEWS!!!
Well, I was going to wait a little while longer, but I am in need of advice. I am officially 8 weeks pregnant!! This coming Tuesday is my first appointment and I might be able to hear the heartbeat! I am so so excited, but so so sick. I really hate this and my mom wasn't ever sick while she was pregnant. I've tried a lot of things but can't seem to find a remedy that works. Any ideas?? Let me know asap!
