I don't want to jinx it, so I knocked on wood and crossed my fingers and did all the other "wish me luck" stuff. I am feeling so great!!! FINALLY! I am almost 32 weeks (8 months) pregnant and feel great. I have lots of energy. My doctor has me on some meds for my high BP and its totally under control (YAY) and she's got me on a sorta, kinda diet that makes me feel so good. Eating better really does make you feel better. It's kind of a lot of work to get started, especially when all I was really eating was cold cereal, but worth it and easy once you get in the groove. I'm hoping this will make it easier for me to eat well and lose the baby weight after she comes!
Now, I'm feeling really good. And I know that in 6-8 weeks I could potentially be holding my baby IN MY ARMS and not in my belly. So now I'm starting to freak out about labor and delivery. Let me list my top fears, in no specific order...
1. That my water is going to break in public, or worse, as I am cutting someone's hair at work.
2. I have a low tolerance for pain, I know it. Therefore, scared that the contractions are going to be killing me and I'll be sure the baby is less than 2 minutes away, and I'll get to the hospital and they'll say, sorry honey, you're only at a 2 go home and walk around and come back in the morning. BAH!!
3. That the labor will go too fast and I won't have time for an epidural (I admit it, I love drugs)
4. That the baby will be too big and I'll end up in a c-section.
5. And last...... breastfeeding. I think its weird. I will do it, of course. I mean a) it's free, b) healthier for baby, c) bonding, yadda yadda yadda, oh and FREE. But I've seen some horror stories, yes SEEN. It pretty much scarred me for life.
Well, I hope this isn't too honest for some of you. If any of you have tips or advice, this is free reign to give it to me. You too mom.

The best thing about giving birth naturally or c-section is that it ends at some point. LOL
Don't be scared. You'll be amazed what kind of pain, breastfeeding weirdness, etc. you just get over because you are so excited about Charlotte. It all kind of fades into the background at some point. Although I must admit everytime I see you have a new post I automatically think "I wonder if she had the baby!"
First of all- Breathe!!! You need to relax! :) Stressing won't help you be calm for the baby. The weirdness of breastfeeding will last about 5 seconds before you realize how special it is. And C-sections are not as bad as people say. It was nice to be done within 30-45 minutes rather than hours.. :) But I will be praying for a fast delivery for you! :) And like ashley said - it ends at some point.. And you'll have a gorgeous baby in your arms and you'll never remember what it was like without a baby! The worst pain for the greatest miracle .. Its worth every bit of it..
Oh and speak with the Lactation specialist (this will be weird when nurses are trying to help you but you're in such a daze you don't even know how weird it is..) They help alot! :)
oh sweet girl! it will be wonderful.(with drugs of course) and the best part- aside from the the beautiful baby- is that you really do forget it all. my baby is only 4 months and i was just reading back to a post about being sick when i was pregnant, i really couldn't remember it!! it always helps me to have randy give me a blessing too. good luck and know that you have TONS of people praying for you and Charlotte
It's so natural to worry. So don't feel like the rest of us don't worry before we go into labor. In fact, I worried with Zaden and he was baby #4. I promise you that you will make it though. I feel as though Heavenly Father made women go into a totally different state of mind when they go into labor. You'll do SUPERB!! All of your fears that you have, have happened to me or people I know and they all made it through. I'm so excited for you. I know you'll be such a fun mom and Aunt Ruthie is going to be a GRANDMA!!!
Take comfort in knowing that ALL pregnant women have these concerns, it's not just you :) The water breaking thing was a big worry of mine too but only 1 in 10 women have their water break, most of the time the dr. has to do it. If it makes you feel better, leave an old towel in the car just in case. And when it comes to pain, you will be able to tough it out until you get the epidural, just let the nurses know you want it as soon as it is possible. As things get closer too walk, walk, walk! It will help you dialate faster. A friend of mine went for her 40 week check and was dialated to a 5 and hadn't start contracting yet! Everyone is different and I'm so excited for you. I'm so glad to hear you are feeling better finally! Just enjoy these last few week because as weird as it sounds, you will miss not having her in your tummy :)
Oh, Becca, all moms worry. We just can't help it. I'm with Camille, I worried just as much with my last as my first. I'll tell you though, and I'm serious, if you have problems nursing, please call me because I know SO many tricks now. Truly. I hate to hear of women suffering trying to be tough when they don't have to be. Don't forget to call if you need me. I know you probably won't, but I am sincere. Good luck!
