Walk, swim, laundry, repeat.

OK, I know I'm only 37 weeks pregnant, and just BARELY full term, but I am so so SO done being pregnant. And I can't wait to see my little Charlotte. So I am doing all I possibly can to go into labor. Today I plan on walking to the grocery store. I only need a gallon of milk and eggs, and since I'm walking, I won't be tempted to buy more stuff. Well, I might stop at the 7eleven on the way back and get a Big Gulp. Anyway, I've had lots of contractions, so at least that's happening. One of my friends hardly had any contractions around this time and ended up having to be induced at 40 weeks because her body just wouldn't contract! Sad!! So I AM grateful for these uncomfortable, yet necessary contractions.
As soon as I decide to do my hair and make-up, I'll be taking one last belly picture. So get ready. You might need to re-format your computer to fit me on it :)

I've found that if I push on my swollen feet with one finger, the indentation will stay for a couple minutes. Gross.

Scorpions

So the other day, George was fixing our ceiling fan light and found a little dead scorpion in the light. EW! At least it was dead though. BUT......... today I was vacuuming the baby's room and found a LIVE scorpion by the rocking chair!!!! It was about an in or so long and brown. I am seriously FREAKING OUT!!!! For some reason, if I would have found it in the kitchen or even MY room I'd be semi OK with it, but it was in my baby's room!!! I'm on the search for someone to take care of this problem STAT!

Happy Lady

For the past almost week it has been quite warm here. Yesterday I'm told it was in the 90's. This heat has resulted in this......

Fat, swollen feet and hands. I filled up this bucket/garbage can with cold water and was alternating between soaking my feet in that and then elevating them on a kitchen chair. It was actually nice. My friend, Stacey, called and I was telling her that I just wanted to go to the pool and float for the next few weeks, like never leave the pool :) She talked me into buying a maternity swimming suit, even though I don't have much longer to go. But it's a tankini, so I think it'll hide my pooch for a while after the baby's born.
So, today I went to Target, bought a suit and some sunscreen and went to the rec center and swam outside for an hour. It was so wonderful! I just floated on my belly and on my back. I did some laps of actual swimming, crazy, I know. It felt so good. My car thermometer said it was 95 outside. The water at the pool was so nice and cool. I am officially going to be there everyday until this baby is born. I'm not joking. If you need me, I'll be there :)

Love

Today has been a really good day. Actually, this past week has been really great. I've just felt so happy and content. I really enjoyed General Conference last week. One talk that really stood out, and hasn't left my mind since, was Elder Holland's talk about the Savior and His Atonement. The part that specifically stood out to me that I never really thought about was when the Savior was on the cross and calls out, "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?" Whenever I've heard or read this, I guess it's just become something that I hear over and over and never really thought about it twice. Elder Holland points out that in this specific moment, Heavenly Father HAD to remove His spirit from Jesus Christ. Why? So that He could feel completely alone. He had already endured so much and felt all the pains and sorrows of the world, BUT He had his Father's spirit to guide Him and help Him get through those moments. So, He had to have that moment of feeling completely alone so He could really, truly feel ALL the sorrows and loneliness and heartache that people had and would feel. I just think that's so amazing. It really hit me. His talk was so great.
As sad as it is, this might be the first Easter that I am actually focused on the real reason why we celebrate it. I am so grateful for my wonderful parents that raised me in the truth. I'm grateful to be sealed to them. I am so grateful that I am sealed to my wonderful husband and that when our daughter is born, she too will be our wonderful daughter for eternity. I can't imagine only being able to be with my family for this short earth life.
Well, Happy Easter everyone! I hope you all have a great day.

As Mindy said, "April Mean"

***Read Melinda and Garret's blog to get the title***

Ok so yesterday morning my mom thought I was for sure going to call them and tell them I was in labor and in the hospital. I actually totally forgot it was April 1st, so decided to play a joke on George. I seriously knew that I wouldn't be able to get him. I can never keep a straight face. Anyway, with his job, the only time we can talk is when he is driving from place to place, but he knows that he always needs to answer his phone now because it's getting closer to when this baby will come. So he answers and is obviously busy, awesome, so here's the conversation....
ME- Hey, I just want you to know that I'm on my way to the hospital.
GEORGE- What?! Why!?
ME- (in laughing/crying voice, easily disguisable on the phone) My water broke! I'm sorry!
GEORGE- (completely panicked) Oh man! Ok.... uh..... oh crap! Ok.
ME- (realizing he thinks I'm serious) Oh, honey, I'm sorry. April Fools! I'm sorry I was kidding!!!
GEORGE- .... Becca, that wasn't funny at all. I'm hanging up on you. **click of phone**
ME- He hung up on me!?!
I try to call him back 3 times and he won't answer. I'm almost crying I'm laughing so hard. Finally about 13-20 mins later he calls. I ask him if he's still mad and he says yes and that he pas so scared and didn't know what to do! Poor guy. I really felt awful. By the end of the conversation he said he was just mad that I totally got him. I try to play jokes on him all the time and I never get him. HA victory is mine!!!

Now I'm just scared that when it's the real thing, he won't believe me.

Fat and happy :)

This past weekend was my baby shower. I wish I had more pictures but this one of Amanda and I is the only one I got. Hopefully Tracy will send me hers? ;) **side note- this picture she is, I think, 37 weeks pregnant and I am 33 weeks. We've had a fun time being pregnant together!** Thank you Tracy, Deb, Jill and Katti for giving me such an awesome baby shower and for all the wonderful friends and family that came and gave Charlotte the cutest gifts ever. She and I both really appreciate all the generosity of everyone. This is my cute friend, Meghan. She is getting married at the end of May and asked me to do her hair for her bridal pictures. I love her birdcage veil. And her dress goes so perfect with it. Anyway, here's how her hair turned out for the pics. Hopefully I can re-create it for the actual wedding day!

This is Charlotte's betrothed husband, Brody. We had the Riddles over a couple weeks ago and caught this way cute picture of him when George was playing with him. Ariane, let me know if you want me to email you the rest of the pictures.

For me: 33 week belly shot. Yum.

Ok, the rest of these pictures are of Charlotte's room.... again. BECAUSE, my sweet friend, Kelly, asked me when I was first pregnant, if she could sew me a crib set. Of course I accepted and after Thanksgiving, or something (don't remember when, but it was sale season) I went to Joann's and got this super cute pink and brown fabric for a ridiculously cheap price. Today she dropped off the bumper and the dust ruffle. As she was leaving she said, "Oh and I'm almost done with the quilt, baby organizer and diaper caddy. I'll call you when it's all done." WHAT?! I know for a fact that I only got enough fabric for the dust ruffle and the bumper. She is such a sweetheart. She said she loves to sew and loves LOVES baby stuff so she just kinda went crazy. I love her. And this set is so way cute.

That's all for now. 4-7 more weeks! Yahoo!!!! Let's hope it's more on the 4-5 week end :)

Scared

I don't want to jinx it, so I knocked on wood and crossed my fingers and did all the other "wish me luck" stuff. I am feeling so great!!! FINALLY! I am almost 32 weeks (8 months) pregnant and feel great. I have lots of energy. My doctor has me on some meds for my high BP and its totally under control (YAY) and she's got me on a sorta, kinda diet that makes me feel so good. Eating better really does make you feel better. It's kind of a lot of work to get started, especially when all I was really eating was cold cereal, but worth it and easy once you get in the groove. I'm hoping this will make it easier for me to eat well and lose the baby weight after she comes!
Now, I'm feeling really good. And I know that in 6-8 weeks I could potentially be holding my baby IN MY ARMS and not in my belly. So now I'm starting to freak out about labor and delivery. Let me list my top fears, in no specific order...
1. That my water is going to break in public, or worse, as I am cutting someone's hair at work.
2. I have a low tolerance for pain, I know it. Therefore, scared that the contractions are going to be killing me and I'll be sure the baby is less than 2 minutes away, and I'll get to the hospital and they'll say, sorry honey, you're only at a 2 go home and walk around and come back in the morning. BAH!!
3. That the labor will go too fast and I won't have time for an epidural (I admit it, I love drugs)
4. That the baby will be too big and I'll end up in a c-section.
5. And last...... breastfeeding. I think its weird. I will do it, of course. I mean a) it's free, b) healthier for baby, c) bonding, yadda yadda yadda, oh and FREE. But I've seen some horror stories, yes SEEN. It pretty much scarred me for life.
Well, I hope this isn't too honest for some of you. If any of you have tips or advice, this is free reign to give it to me. You too mom.

*deep sigh*

Today I went to a prenatal yoga class. It was wonderful. I love it because it forces you to relax. Exactly what I need. Anyway, it was great and I will be going back next Saturday and every other Saturday until this baby comes. Maybe it'll help with this annoying high blood pressure and I won't have to be on meds anymore? That would be nice.
